Exciting News About Puckit! and Crazy Games

It's been an exciting week for my game, Puckit!. I'm in contact with four publishers, and I’ve officially released the game on Crazy Games.

    The Importance of Game Marketing

As game developers, we often focus on creating fun gameplay, but finding your audience and figuring out how to earn money from your game is just as important.

    Who Are Your Players?

Puckit! is a fast-paced game where players clear the board by knocking pucks into holes or bouncing opponents out of play. It’s designed for:

    • Players who want quick and easy gameplay
    • Those who prefer minimal tutorials
    • Gamers of all ages looking for a fun experience

Crazy Games is a great platform with millions of users who fit this audience, making it an ideal place to launch my game.

For the past month, I have worked on preparing my game for the different publishers, all with their own challenges. In this post, I will focus on Crazy Games, and how I published my game on their platform.

    About the process

The process with Crazy Games has been straightforward. They have a well integrated developer console, with a dashboard that makes it easy to add your own games. They only require the minimal amount of information for your game before it's ready for review. A title, a description, a few cover images, and the game files. That's it!

You can also find resources about how to integrate the SDK, and they have easy to understand guidelines and examples.

Tip: Before you start integrating the SDK, consider reaching out to the Crazy Games team. They can let you know if your game is a good fit, which can save you time.

Their developer console also includes a preview window of how the game will appear on their site. They have a QA tool where you can check if the SDK is integrated correctly. This is a huge time-saver, because you'll get less revision request from their team.

From all the four publishers I've been in contact with, I will say that Crazy Games has the best onboarding process because of their well implemented dashboard.

    Review and Release

During the review, it took between 1 and 2 days before I got feedback from the team. They are polite and often include screenshots to make it easier to understand what to fix or improve. They don't only look for bugs or issues, but come with improvement suggestions as well. For example, I got comments that some UI elements were too small.

Once all issues are fixed, the team will prepare the game for release, which also takes around two days. They feature new games for extra visibility, so it’s important to have your game in the best condition it can be from the start. The most traffic will be during the first week, and it may stagnate after that. I have yet to receive any statistics from my game, as it's been on their site for only 1 day (as of this writing.) I hope to share some statistics in future posts.

    Final Thoughts

I find myself checking the game page constantly for likes and dislikes, which can be stressful. It’s probably better to check once a day instead. Hopefully, I’ll get used to it after releasing more games!
